Let’s face it – routine’s work.
We can think of them a bit like habits – which ultimately take us closer to, or further away from what we want.
Vicky, one of our attendees (at one of our workshops on optimising our skin health, naturally) shared that she had a realisation after coming along. She mentioned that she found the reminder of the value of building a routine to help look after her skin was so timely, and precisely what she needed to hear. For her this means cleansing and toning her face each day – no matter what!
I don’t know if you can relate – I certainly never used to bother, until I learned the tremendous positive difference that helping my skin’s pH and removing toxins can make to my skin’s healthspan.
As with anything that’s useful to do regularly – the next step is to find an effective way
to have this benefit become a regular part of our lives.
It’s never through lack of information that we miss doing what can help us the most, be it drinking enough water, making sure that we go out for a walk or eating plenty of veggies.
It’s more about not having yet found our groove with it.
And curiously – what works for me with building positive routines, may not work for you – it’s a personal journey.
One constant that seems to be true, however, is making sure that the steps to get that routine in place need to be straightforward and hassle-free.
It’s worth taking a look at this research article 1 that mentions the reasons we’d bother building positive habits.
So stay tuned and I’ll see you on this week’s #AlivewithFi – ciao for now 🙂
