Is focus all it takes to create the results that we want?

It really depends on what your role is.

What I mean by this is if it’s admin or data input,  then we don’t necessarily need to be using communications skills to interact with people. This is a space in which being able to focus purely and simply on one thing can be a real bonus.

This is in contrast to a management, sales and or marketing role for example. There are some interesting studies showing that having the skills for being both excellent at working with people and goal-focused rarely happens.1

I was curious to note that the perception of an effective and good leader is not simply someone who’s able to be super focused and productive.

Inspiring another person to step up, stretch themselves and grow is appreciated as another thing entirely…and a little tricky to replace with a machine any time soon.

So it’s a combo of these two skills that makes all the difference

I’m curious to hear if this is something that you’ve found in your life?

And until I see you on this week’s #ALivewithFi have a goodie 🙂
