Top of the morning to you!

And it’s such a beautiful one here in Long Bay on Auckland’s North Shore (although I’ll have reached our Bali base by the time you’re reading this!) I’m lapping-up the endless-oceanview, and from where I’m standing, it shows off Auckland’s most recent volcano as centre-piece.

This week, we’re all about financial health, which is rather timely. Deciding to make this a personal goal several decades ago is actually the key reason I’m now experiencing a level of freedom with my finances and lifestyle that I used to simply dream about.

So what do I mean by financial health? We may be more familiar with aspects of our health like our physical-, relational-, mental-, and emotional health.

Interestingly, financial-health can get overlooked.

That’s because, for most of us, finances have either been/or can be a source of stress – which is precisely the reason we’re touching on it.

Let me explain a little about my journey to this point: when I was starting out, during my first five years or so of running my own Health Centers in Auckland, I was working exceptionally long hours, and I was running myself down. My life became a roller-coaster of energy ups-and-downs, poor sleep, and even palpitations¹.

This means that I was teaching about a Healthy LifeStyle balance, although I wasn’t walking the talk in my own life.

Eek!

Who was I being, to be so far out of integrity?

I remember listing off to one of my mentors all the reasons that things were so tough for me and how much I had going on, and the question I received in response was an eye-opener for me: ‘Who’s responsibility is it to get things sorted in your life – especially for your health?

Ouch!

It turns out that much of my stress was about money, even when I was working such long hours and receiving what seemed like a great income.  And what I found revealing was that it was the same for many of my clients.

An especially unnerving bout of palpitations one night prompted some soul-searching. And my epiphany was = time to figure out my life-priorities!

I asked myself the question ‘Is it ok for me to be trading my time – my LIFE, in fact – for money?’

I totally got that it was time to figure out the way to create the (what my husband Chris calls) ’drinking out of a coconut income’. Meaning – living the kind of balanced life we know we deserve.

If this has got you curious, then message me! I’d love to connect and hear more about what you’re looking for in your ideal LifeStyle.
