When I first met Joe, he was having digestive challenges (he had been on extended water fast and prior to this had been following a raw, vegan diet for a year.  At that point, he was experiencing weakness, fatigue, and depression.)

So, we talked about adjustments that might be more appropriate for Joe  1 in terms of providing optimal nutrition for his body.

The areas we covered included – having more cooked food whilst transitioning from his fast, with an emphasis on easy-to-digest healthy fats and protein sources, and focusing on improving his digestion (including giving him a technique to reduce stomach spasms), which improved, on his rating, from about a 9/10 down to a 5/10 after just one session. Plus, his inner core strength improved, and his physical weakness lessened, going from 8/10 down to just 3/10.

Most importantly, his peace of mind improved from being able to talk through his concerns. This is the reason that the safety and freedom to freely communicate what’s really going on is a vital part of our healing – as well as listening to our bodies and giving credit to our intuition. It keeps us from getting stuck on one track and allows us to tap into the wisdom of our own bodies.

As you know – it’s always good to hear from you with your queries and your epiphanies.

In the meantime, see you on this week’s #AliveWithFi!

1 Most of us know that by eating based on a health-focus, we can benefit from a variety of physical health benefits and that since food fuels all our body-processes, it makes sense that good food encourages optimal overall cellular (and organ) function.

What we might not know or hear as often is how identifying and meeting our own body’s needs for our personal, optimal nutrition (both micro and macro) can have profound impacts on our well-being and overall functioning (coined as ‘Bioindividuality’ by Joshua Rosenthal – Founder of IIN).

When we nourish ourselves with personalized and optimized nutrition (as part of a whole health-picture), we often see changes for the better.
