So here’s an eye opener…
Power-posing is standing in front of the mirror for a minimum of 2 minutes and striking our favourite superhero pose. For me it’s Wonder Woman (especially since seeing the movie – talk about Girl Power!)
And I’m especially loving the big-time value that it can trigger.
Standing and posing in front of the mirror for 2 minutes can actually help our confidence and as we know, our feelings and emotions can affect our hormonal levels.
Research has indicated power-posing can lead to increased testosterone levels and decreased cortisol levels, which can help decrease stress levels. 1
But, don’t take my word for it. The next time you’re in front of the mirror, perhaps take just a moment to strike a power pose!
I’ve started to trial it recently, so I’ll let you know how I get on.
And if you’re feeling like some entertainment, then pop on for this week’s #AliveWithFi when you just might just see me strike my power-pose!
Ciao for now ☺
1 Did you know that “higher levels of testosterone (in both men and women) lead to increased feelings of confidence”? At the same time, “lower levels of cortisol lead to decreased anxiety and an improved ability to deal with stress.” Activities that contribute to this effect, like power-posing, are good for you! “How to Be Confident and Reduce Stress in 2 Minutes” J.
