As you know I’m passionate about Living Lightly, and one way I see this concept being most valuable in a practical sense is by finding ways that pay it forward…
…Meaning paying forward to others the blessings I’ve received, in ways that are intentional and impactful.
I’ve previously talked about paying it forward with things like recycling; selecting clean, green options; and using environmentally safe and sustainable materials in our dietary, cleaning, and travel selections. With thoughtfulness, our choices can actually make a global difference.
You probably already realise that making a difference is one of the main driving forces in my life.
I invite you to pause for a mo and reflect on something. If you think of a specific time in your life that was challenging for you – would it have made a difference to have received compassionate support at that time? If that’s a yes for you; in what way could it have made things better for you?
In a way, that’s an example of the potential of Living Lightly – and believe me, it can literally be a life-saver 1.
It may be a kind word said, an encouraging hug, simply listening exquisitely.
Sure – it can also be on a bigger scale; although the most potent place I’ve found to begin is with our inner circle; and our most direct circle of influence.
Oh and stay tuned, as shortly we’ll be sharing more about a specific project we’re embracing, to be paying it forward in another leveraged way (helping do more with less); alongside The 2Gether Foundation, Empowerment Project and of course the True Health Foundation.
In the meantime – what’s your experience of the words paying it forward?…what do they mean for you?
I’ll see you on #AliveWithFi this week where we’ll get to connect personally…
