…What lights you up?
One thing for me is being outside in nature, feeling fully alive – especially in the early morning.
There was a time when I thought that what lit me up was a big house, a convertible car, a wardrobe (several!) full of clothes. Gradually I realized that whilst these are all cool, and yup; I do appreciate them on a certain level – what’s higher on my values-list are nature and connection with those I love.
Being in beautiful places with family and framily is what jazzes me these days.
This realization has shifted my life-focus from material ‘stuff’ to connecting with my spiritual source and those loved ones I treasure. 1
It’s also led me to create a level of freedom so that I’m able to support foundations I believe in and live the lifestyle I used to muse about.
As ever, I’m curious to learn, what is it for you; what spins your wheels?
In the meantime, check out this week’s #AliveWithFi for musings on this vital topic.
1 We need to ask the right questions to find out what we value, which might change over time—and then we get to choose to be brave enough to seek it. The way to start is to ask ourselves what we value and what we want in our lives. What is it for you? ‘4 key questions to feel fully fulfilled + content’ L. Newman (n.d.)
