Recently I’ve been actually examining my choices in relation to this high-mileage topic.
I figured this was me almost by default, given my choices over the years including around food and a ‘green’ approach to the planet.
I originally approached the changes I made based on health, although it’s become a philosophy of life for me now – minimising my impact.
It’s been such an eye-opener when it comes to eco-conscious living to actually explore areas like the eating fish (which I sometimes do). A valuable reference for me is the completed podcast series how to save the planet which is rich with healthy discussion and packed with valuable research.
The presenters Waveney and Tim, take themselves refreshingly un-seriously, and delve deep on many sometimes controversial topics.
A recent one is all about how sustainable or is it to eat fish caught in New Zealand and I’ve been left shocked at what I learned.
I’m not going to share all the details here – that’s what the link is for, if this interests you.
It’s not that the presenters (and me) are necessarily going to stop eating New Zealand fish. It’s just it’s really had them stop and think.
And that’s one of the things I appreciate about this podcast – it’s not ‘I’m holier than thou’, it’s more about being prepared to look at the facts. It’s definitely worth a listen!
Is this an area that matters to you, and if yes, in what way?
As you know, I always love to hear from you!
We’ll explore further on this week’s #AlivewithFi – Ciao for now 🙂
