I’ve picked these because I’ve found that they work for me personally. I haven’t necessarily measured my own kpi’s like my blood pressure etc to track the impact, although if you’re curious – there is some interesting research available 1.
At the end of the day it’s about bio individuality or as I like to call it, our individual cellular blueprint. What works for me may not work so well for you – it’s a personal journey to find that out.
My first one is getting active within the first half hour of waking and ideally getting out into nature, even if it’s cloudy as there’s still sun behind those clouds
Next up is to eat our veggies first, which can help to reduce blood sugar spikes.
Another food-related hack is, provided it works for us personally, is eating fermented foods. These probiotic-rich foods can help our gut bacteria and immune system to do their jobs efficiently.
Plus taking some apple cider vinegar before a meal can help to regulate our blood sugar and appetite.
If, like me, you didn’t initially relish the idea of jumping in a cold shower, you might prefer to ease into it (it took me about 3 months to get there, and now I prefer cold showers!) Thanks to some recommendations of a dear friend and extremely astute osteopath Bash in the UK, I now get to benefit from the inflammation-reducing properties of my cold showers, plus all-season-sea dips.
Enjoying time with loved ones can be nourishing at a deep level and can even positively impact our hormonal systems.
Another is focusing on our breath which has been front of mind for me since I’ve been reading an interesting book gifted to me by my sister called Breath by James Nestor.
As with all these useful hacks – awareness (and patience!) are the beginning of any change we may want to create.
How about you – what have you found that helps you to feel better, have more energy and joie de vivre?
As usual I’m looking forward to seeing you on this week’s #ALivewithFi and until then ciao for now 🙂
