This might sound like a bizarre question to ask because we’re all familiar with the classic cliches like ‘money makes the world go around’

You may even have heard me say ‘money’s not everything but it’s right up there with oxygen when it comes to helping us be able to do the things that we choose to do in our lives’.

One driver I’ve found especially motivating to get the money thing sorted is to be able to give back and help others who may be less fortunate than I am.

This brings to mind some wise words one of my mentors shared with me a few years ago, namely ‘yes, money is really important,  although it won’t take away our challenges – it simply has us become more of who we already are.

So if we already have money challenges, and nothing else changes besides having more money – the money challenges will simply become bigger ones.

Here’s a quote that puts this well – can you guess who said it? (giveaway in the reference below!) “I hope everybody could get rich and famous and will have everything they ever dreamed of, so they will know that it’s not the answer”  1

I definitely began my career chasing the dollar, until I realised I had effectively become a slave to money. I’m grateful I woke up and shifted direction to create a different, non-time-dependant scenario.

I’m curious to hear your take on this, and until I see you on this week’s #AlivewithFi have a goodie 🙂
