So, you’d like to get healthier…what’s next?


I read a powerful book earlier this year about succeeding with our goals – called ‘The Big Leap’ by Gay Hendricks. He shares some pearly gems that really cut to the chase on what actually works.


Our first step is to get super clear about what our goal is – so that we know when we’ve reached it. Meaning – ‘get healthier’ is tricky to measure, whereas ‘fit into my summer jeans from last year’ is crystal clear – we know when we’ve reached our goal! Remember to add in the date you’re reaching your goal by.

And what’s next? I’ve realised, that with every major goal I’ve reached – the 2 main things I’ve done are –

  1. Find out what others did who became good at what I want to do – and copy them. In the absence of someone obvious to ask – google can become our best friend!
  2. I made my new goal my ‘my magnificent obsession!’…a phrase one of my mentors Dr Denis Waitley taught me; and that he also shared in ‘The Secret’ video. Namely; what we focus on, we create more of.


Even though big results feel fabulous – being able to celebrate the wee steps is such a powerful habit to build.
